Drew begins a four-part lesson on organizing based on Richard C. Borden’s book, Public speaking–As listeners like it, that discusses the fundamentals of speech organization. The book was published in 1935, but most of the basic principles are taught in multiple textbooks and public speaking books sold today. Part 1 spends 5 minutes on using the introduction to get the audience’s attention.
